My Dogri poem translated by Mrs. Monica Sharma
"Lines"
Glancing mirror felt the terror
Peeping from the mirror she laughed and said
I am your same face that you always embellished and decorated but that face has also left you
It has also changed it's image
I was dying no, no it can't be like this absolutely not possible
These freckles
These long lines
She laughed
These are not the lines of worries but of experience
This is the earning of your life
A heritage
The one that every passing year has handed over to you
In a fix, I asked
If these are of experience
These lines
Then why there is no taker
No one comes near
Why everyone runs away?
With years adding on
There is a requirement of four arms but everyone tries to go away
Who needs lines of my experience
Again she laughed from the mirror
Take it as an irony
No one likes the lines of others experience
Everyone wants to earn one's own experience.
